Rising K-pop group KickFlip is back, capturing the raw эмоtion of youth at the threshold of adulthood. With their fourth mini album My First Kick, they deliver a refreshing yet bold coming-of-age narrative.
A Defining Moment of Youth
KickFlip held a media showcase on April 6 in Seoul, unveiling My First Kick, an album centered on first love experienced at age 20. Awkward yet honest, the record reflects the emotional intensity of youth standing between boyhood and adulthood.
Compared to their previous title track, the group has evolved from shy boys into more confident, forward-moving young adults—retaining their signature refreshing energy while adding a sharper edge.

Title Track: Bold Confession with 'Kick-ral' Energy
The title track "I Want to Be Annoying" is a hyper-punk-based dance song that delivers a straightforward confession of love. It amplifies what the group calls their unique "Kick-ral" charm—a playful yet assertive expression of affection.
Lyrics like "Even if I annoy you, at least you'll think of me" highlight a daring, flirtatious tone. The choreography reinforces this concept, featuring sharp, curious movements and playful gestures symbolizing their desire to stand out.

Fully Live, Performance-Driven Stage
At the showcase, all members performed with handheld microphones, delivering a fully live stage. Their ability to transition between low-tone rap and high-pitched vocals emphasized their growing technical stability and stage control.
The performance also showcased synchronized formations and confident eye contact, signaling a clear step forward in their live capabilities.

Members Take Creative Lead
All members contributed to the album's credits, marking a significant step in artistic growth.
- Leader Gyehun participated in writing and composing the title track, as well as multiple B-sides.
- Donghyeon contributed to composing "Twenty" and writing "Stup!d," drawing from his real-life transition into adulthood.
- Donghwa worked on both lyrics and composition across several tracks, embedding a message of self-confidence.
- Minje contributed to the melody of "Scroll," inspired by the emotions of checking a crush's social media.
Expanding Global Presence
Since debuting in January last year, KickFlip has steadily built momentum. They performed at major global festivals such as Lollapalooza Chicago and Summer Sonic in Tokyo, Osaka, and Bangkok—proving both performance strength and live credibility.
They also successfully completed their first fan concert tour across five cities, demonstrating strong stage command and fan engagement.

Clear Identity and Future Goals
KickFlip aims to be recognized not just for variety show appearances, but as a performance-driven group.
"We want people to see that our strength lies in performance and live stages," the members shared.
Looking ahead, they expressed ambitions to hold their first solo concert and release a full-length album.
My First Kick was released on April 6 at 6 PM (KST) across major music platforms.
