Actor Lim Ji-yeon returns with a fierce new character.
The production team of SBS-TV's new Friday–Saturday drama Brave New World (written by Kang Hyun-joo, directed by Han Tae-seop) released a teaser poster on April 8. It features Lim Ji-yeon transformed into Joseon-era villain Shin Seo-ri.
Brave New World is a romantic comedy. It tells the story of Shin Seo-ri, an unknown actress possessed by the soul of a Joseon villain, and Cha Se-gye, a ruthless chaebol played by Heo Nam-jun, unfolding a war-like romance.
Shin Seo-ri is a character who suddenly arrives in 21st-century South Korea from the Joseon era. In the poster, Lim Ji-yeon shows a mix of surprise and awe among skyscrapers and cars.
The design, reminiscent of a traditional portrait painting, also draws attention. It contrasts visuals of the past and present. Curiosity grows over how Shin Seo-ri, armed with survival-driven determination, will endure in the modern world.
A representative stated, "Please look forward to Lim Ji-yeon's comedic acting transformation. From a villain who shook Joseon without support to the lovable determination she adopts to survive in the 21st century, she fully delivers the role."
Brave New World premieres on May 8 at 9:50 PM.
