Korea's iconic variety show Happy Together is making a comeback after six years.
KBS-2TV announced on April 8 that Happy Together will return with a new format. It will be reborn as a storytelling music audition program.
Originally aired from 2001 to 2020, Happy Together ran for nearly two decades. It gained popularity through segments such as "School Bag Talk," "Tray Karaoke," "Friends," and "Sauna Talk."
A New Format Centered on Team Stories
The new title is Happy Together – Better Because We're Not Alone. Veteran MC Yoo Jae-suk will once again host the show. It introduces a storytelling audition format where participants must sing together, emphasizing the reason behind collaboration.
The audition is team-based. There are no restrictions on age, genre, qualifications, or number of members—any team can apply. Rather than pure vocal ability, the key judging criteria will be each team's narrative and harmony.
Legacy and Reinvention
The show will maintain the original brand identity of Happy Together while reinterpreting the value of togetherness through music. Applications will be open via the official website from April 8 to May 31.
Happy Together – Better Because We're Not Alone is scheduled to premiere in July.
