BTS continues to rewrite history. The group's latest album has held the top spot on the Billboard 200 for three consecutive weeks.
According to Billboard's chart preview released on April 13 (KST), BTS's fifth studio album ARIRANG remains No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart dated April 18.
This marks a historic milestone. BTS is now the only K-pop act to achieve three consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The album debuted straight at No. 1 upon release (April 4 chart).
It is also the first group album in approximately 13 years to maintain the top position for three weeks or more. Billboard noted that this hasn't been seen since Mumford & Sons' Babel in 2013.
The group 이어ed the momentum from Taylor Swift, whose The Life of a Showgirl topped the chart for its first three weeks upon release last year.
The Billboard 200 ranks albums based on a combination of physical sales, streaming equivalent albums (SEA), and track equivalent albums (TEA).
ARIRANG recorded 124,000 album units during the tracking week, including 71,000 in physical sales, 50,000 SEA units, and 3,000 TEA units.
Meanwhile, BTS launched their world tour "ARIRANG" with shows held on April 9 and April 11–12 at Goyang Stadium, drawing approximately 132,000 attendees.
