AKMU has achieved a new milestone on Korea's leading music platform Melon.
According to Melon on April 14, AKMU recorded a cumulative 2.536 billion streams (as of March 30), setting the all-time highest record for a co-ed artist.
Since their debut in 2014, AKMU has released seven albums and four singles. Among their discography, seven songs have surpassed 100 million streams—a feat achieved by only 17 artists in total.
Their most popular track, How can I love the heartbreak, you're the one I love, has accumulated 448.39 million streams and reached 7.91 million listeners.
The song also stayed on Melon's daily chart for 1,046 consecutive days, ranking No. 15 in all-time longevity. It further secured a spot on the yearly chart for seven consecutive years.
The track gained additional attention after being recommended by Han Kang. It has garnered 494,000 likes, making it the second most-liked song after BTS's Spring Day.
Other major hits include How can I love the heartbreak..., Last Goodbye (179.92 million), 200% (145.07 million), and NAKKA with IU (115.22 million streams).
Earlier releases continue to perform steadily. Give Love recorded 115.19 million streams, Dinosaur 108.53 million, and Love Lee 102.30 million.
AKMU has also placed six songs at No. 1 on Melon's daily chart, including How can I love the heartbreak..., Love Lee, and RE-BYE. Notably, Love Lee held the top spot for 53 consecutive days and reached No. 1 a total of 60 times.
Meanwhile, AKMU recently returned with their fourth full-length album Bloom, released on April 7—their first album since going independent.
