Actors Cha Seung-won and Kim Do-hoon are set to showcase a unique bromance in a new spy drama.
tvN's upcoming series Retired Agent + Management Team (written by Song Hanna and Kim Min-sung, directed by Jin Chang-gyu) unveiled its casting lineup on April 14, confirming the two actors as leads.
The drama is a mutual-rescue espionage story. It follows a former National Intelligence Service black ops agent turned car wash owner who begins working alongside a member of a retired agent management team.
Cha Seung-won takes on the role of Kim Chul-soo, a retired black agent now running a neighborhood car wash. Despite his quiet daily life, he remains a character driven by lingering passion and ambition.
Kim Do-hoon plays Go Yo-han, a top-performing rookie agent who, despite his strong credentials, is assigned to the retired agent management team. He struggles to return to field operations.
Their on-screen chemistry is expected to be a key highlight. As they pursue a traitor who has been operating behind a criminal organization, the duo embarks on a journey of renewed purpose.
The production team stated, "The dynamic between a retired agent and a rookie agent—full of bickering chemistry and rough teamwork—will be a major point of enjoyment."
Blending multiple genres, the series promises a mix of action, comedy, and bromance. "We ask for your anticipation and interest in Retired Agent + Management Team," they added.
The drama is scheduled to premiere in the second half of this year.
