The future of Second Signal remains unclear amid reports of scheduling delays.

A representative from tvN stated on April 17 that the drama's broadcast schedule is "undecided," refraining from further details. Regarding speculation that it could be replaced by Pachinko Season 1, the network confirmed that Pachinko is set to air but noted that its timing is also yet to be finalized.

Second Signal is a sequel to the 2016 hit drama Signal and was planned as a commemorative project for tvN's 20th anniversary, with an initial target of a first-half release.

However, controversy surrounding actor Cho Jin-woong has reportedly impacted the project. Past legal issues, including incidents from his youth and later offenses, resurfaced, leading to public backlash.

Following the reports, Cho Jin-woong announced his retirement from the entertainment industry, issuing an apology and stating his intention to reflect and take responsibility for his actions.

The series is written by Kim Eun-hee and directed by Ahn Tae-jin. The cast also includes Lee Je-hoon and Kim Hye-soo.
