American media outlet 'Deadline' unveiled the cast list for director Park Chan-wook's next film 'The Brigands of Rattlecreek' on the 25th (Korea time).

An ultra-luxury lineup has been completed. The cast includes Hollywood actors Matthew McConaughey, Austin Butler, Pedro Pascal, and Tang Wei.

The film is based on the screenplay 'Born Tomahawk' by S. Craig Zahler. The script has been listed on the 'Blacklist,' Hollywood's most acclaimed list of unproduced screenplays.

The film tells a story of revenge waged by a sheriff and a doctor against a gang of bandits who plunder a small town. Director Park Chan-wook's signature themes of vengeance and retribution are expected to combine with the western genre.

Director Park Chan-wook has been pursuing the film adaptation of this project for approximately 10 years. He recently participated directly in script revision work. He will produce the film alongside producer Bradley Fisher.

'Deadline' evaluated it as "a rare combination that possesses A-list actors, a renowned director, and genre appeal all at once." The production budget is known to exceed $60 million (approximately 88.6 billion won).

Meanwhile, director Park Chan-wook will serve as the jury president at the 79th Cannes Film Festival to be held next month.
