[Dispatch=Reporter Lee Myung-ju] Actors Son Seok-gu and Ha Jungwoo will work together in director Yoon Jong-bin's new film.
Netflix announced the casting lineup for the film "Ordinary People" (director Yoon Jong-bin) on the 27th. Son Seok-gu, Ha Jungwoo, Ji Chang-wook, Hyun Bong-sik, and Seo Hyun-woo will appear.
"Ordinary People" is a work that deals with the contradictions of modern Korean history and the behind-the-scenes of power. It is a story about Roh Tae-woo, who wore the mask of an "ordinary person" beside Chun Doo-hwan.
Son Seok-gu takes on the role of Roh Tae-woo, who becomes the number one figure following absolute power holder Chun Doo-hwan. He expresses the complex and subtle inner world leading up to becoming president.
Ha Jungwoo plays Chun Doo-hwan, the absolute power holder of the new military dictatorship regime. He shows the relationship between number one and number two with Roh Tae-woo, his classmate from the Military Academy.
Ji Chang-wook plays Huh Hak-sung, a junior from the Military Academy, Hyun Bong-sik plays Jongho Jung, a friend of Roh Tae-woo and Chun Doo-hwan, and Seo Hyun-woo plays Park Chul-ung, a Seoul District Prosecutors' Office prosecutor and Roh Tae-woo's aide.
Director Yoon Jong-bin is in charge of directing. He has shown densely-woven storytelling in each work including the film "War Against Crime: The Golden Age of Bad Guys."
A representative stated, "It captures the true faces of human figures and their ways of survival," and asked to "look forward to how we will depict human desire for power."
Meanwhile, "Ordinary People" will be released on Netflix at a later date.
