[Dispatch=Reporter Lee Myung-joo] BTS has received additional album certifications in France and Japan.
The French Record Association (SNEP) recently added certification related to BTS's regular fifth album "ARIRANG" on its website. "ARIRANG" received a "Platinum" certification.
"Platinum" is one of the certification standards. It is awarded to albums that achieve sales of over 100,000 units by combining physical album sales, downloads, and streaming plays.
This album is the fourth "Platinum" certified work. BTS received SNEP certifications for "Map of the Soul: 7," "Proof," and "Love Yourself - Answer."
"ARIRANG" achieved "Gold" certification six days after its release. Afterwards, "Platinum" was added one month later. Considering that the previous work took one year and two months, this shows remarkable growth.
The Japan Record Association also issued another certification. "Let Go," a track from BTS's Japanese regular third album released in 2018, received a "Platinum" certification.
"Let Go" is a streaming category certification. It surpassed 100 million cumulative plays last month. With this, BTS achieved its 17th "Platinum," the most among K-pop artists.
"ARIRANG" is also gaining significant popularity. The new album received a "Triple Platinum" certification from the association. Since its release on the 20th of last month, it surpassed 750,000 cumulative shipments in 11 days.
Meanwhile, BTS is conducting a world tour "ARIRANG" in North America. On the 25th, it kicked off at Tampa's Raymond James Stadium.
