Nam Kyung-ju was a professor at Hongik University at the time and was instructing students. It is known that the charge was applied because the offense was committed against his student A.
Nam Kyung-ju is accused of sexually assaulting A in the Seocho-gu area of Seoul in December last year. He attempted to reach a settlement with the victim through criminal mediation, but it was not established.
Meanwhile, Nam Kyung-ju is counted as a first-generation figure in Korea's musical theater industry. He played leading roles in major productions including "Ladies and Gangsters," "Mamma Mia," and "Chicago."
