Distributor Plus M Entertainment announced on April 29 that The Miraculous Sweets Shop: Zenitendo, starring Ra Mi-ran and Lee Re, will premiere in theaters this May.

The Miraculous Sweets Shop: Zenitendo is based on a widely popular Japanese bestseller.

The story follows visitors who discover a mysterious sweets shop where magical treats grant their wishes, leading to unexpected events.

The project will be produced as two live-action contents.

The first will be a theatrical film, followed by a serialized format titled The Miraculous Sweets Shop: Zenitendo, featuring 12 episodes.

Ra Mi-ran vs. Lee Re: A Tense Acting Showdown

Ra Mi-ran takes on the role of Hong-ja, the enigmatic owner of Zenitendo.

Lee Re joins the cast as Yomi, the owner of Hwahangdang, a rival shop that threatens Zenitendo.

The two actresses are expected to deliver a tense and compelling acting rivalry, raising anticipation among audiences.

Director Park Bong-seop Brings Genre Expertise

The film is directed by Park Bong-seop, who previously demonstrated strong genre storytelling skills through the hit drama The Uncanny Counter.

With his experience, expectations are high for a well-crafted fantasy production.

A teaser poster related to the film was also unveiled.

Hong-ja (played by Ra Mi-ran) greets customers with a mysterious smile, while Zenitendo’s mascot cat sits beside her.
