[Dispatch=Reporter Lee Myeong-ju] YG Entertainment (hereinafter YG) is launching a rookie boy group.

Yang Hyun-suk, Overall Producer, released a 'YG ANNOUNCEMENT' video on the company blog on the 30th. He directly shared news about artists under the label.

He opened up information regarding the rookie boy group scheduled to debut this year. Yang said, "As of now, we plan to introduce YG's new boy group in September."

The member count has also been confirmed. He added, "I think many of you will be curious, but the boy group will have 5 members. We are planning the launch within September."

This marks the first time YG is debuting a boy group in approximately 6 years. In August 2020, they introduced TREASURE. In January 2024, they launched girl group BABYMONSTER.

Beyond the rookie boy group, YG is also carrying out a girl group debut project. Yang said, "We will sequentially release information about the new rookies."
