The "Danjongopp" who moved the nation
has completed preparations for a "mess cook" rebirth.

"Fried rice, I'm your opponent!"

"My rating" (Manager)

[Dispatch=Kim Jiho·Park Hyejin] Actor Park Jihoon is sharpening his eyes once again. From an ill-fated young king, he is set to return as a legendary mess cook. He is making a comeback as mess cook "Kang Seong-jae," equipped with fraudulently high-level cooking skills.
Park Jihoon's (real) cooking ability is something you can't help but wonder about. Dispatch's idol channel 'Meme' (@myidol_miim) met Park Jihoon on the 16th at a small studio in Seongdong-gu.
We gave Park Jihoon a fried rice mission and captured the scene in video and photos. Now, here begins Park Jihoon's tumultuous cooking challenge.

'Meme' prepared a variety of ingredients. Onions, carrots, leeks, pre-cooked rice, spam, tuna, eggs and other basic fried rice ingredients. We also provided oyster sauce, ketchup, sesame oil, pepper, salt, and olive oil.

Our prince has the qualities of a chef. Before starting, he washes his hands thoroughly. He goes to wash his hands several times in between. Perfect score for cleanliness! Plus, he's good with the knife.

"Actually, I'm not good at cooking. Unfortunately, I don't have the same skills as Kang Seong-jae. But what I'm confident about is knife work? I learned to hold the knife this way, as close to my hand as possible."

"I picked carrots"

Slice by slice,

sliced into rounds

minced and minced again

"Stored in my pan"

Park Jihoon shredded the carrots with divine knife skills. But admiration was short-lived; while cutting the leeks, he quickly tossed them into the bowl. They didn't cut properly and became spirals. When in doubt, quick to give up!

Oh!
Park Jihoon suddenly tears up.

"The onion is so strong"

Seeing Park Jihoon with an emoji-like expression of distress, we suggested, "Go wash up." But this man is a tetoman. "I'll overcome mere onions," he says, continuing to focus on his knife work.

"Yes! The onion won?"

Now the spam is causing trouble.
The lid won't come off, so eventually he calls SOS to 'Meme'.

"Spam, you rascal!"

Generally you drizzle olive oil in the pan and add ingredients. But the prince does things differently. (In fact, it's no secret he forgot the olive oil.) Since it's too late, instead of olive oil, he tosses in a can of tuna. After that, he adds olive oil.

Now with all the sauces he has and
rice, stir-fry and you're done.

Stir, stir.

"Hmm... what flavor is this?"

"What on earth is this taste?"

Park Jihoon's own assessment is "It has flavor, but I don't know what flavor it is." Now we summon today's judge, Park Jihoon's manager. How was the manager's evaluation of willingly tasting it?

"A flavor worth trying once"

"Not a second time"

"Not worth paying for"
Park Jihoon received 2 stars out of 5. At the manager's cool evaluation, Park Jihoon burst out laughing. This is why the name of the fried rice Park Jihoon made that day changed from "Basic Fried Rice" to "Two-Star Fried Rice."

He drizzles ketchup on top and tastes it again. Then he protests, "It's delicious, right? No, really delicious!" He invites the people on site to try it.

"Everyone try it!"

So
then
The 'Meme' tasting panel offers objective evaluations too.

Reporter Kim Jiho:The first taste is surprisingly delicious! But why does the aftertaste feel sour...? Is it the ketchup? I'm sorry, but there's a flavor that shouldn't come forward.... Still, his visuals and cuteness get 5 stars. It's more human to not be able to cook. / ★★
Reporter Park Hyejin:The first bite spread sweet and salty flavors with savory notes, but my taste buds got lost at the aftertaste.... However, I was moved by how carefully he handled each ingredient, so I give an extra star. (Your Highness, you did measure, right...?) / ★★★
Photographer Changyoung:Should I call it a Soul food for people living alone? The savory and salty flavors were intense! Leftover ingredients from the fridge kept popping out one by one, and eventually they all joined in—that kind of fried rice? I think I could eat a whole bowl! / ★★★
Meanwhile, 'Meme' is an idol channel created by Dispatch. It provides exclusive content from K-pop artists on Instagram, YouTube, X, TikTok and more. Park Jihoon's fried rice challenge is also saved on my 'Meme'.
