[Dispatch=Reporter Park Hye-jin] Rapper late Jerry.K (real name Kim Jin-il) has passed away. His wife shared a message.

Jerry.K's wife Lu posted on the 30th of last month, "I am grateful to everyone who loved Jerry.K," and added, "Thanks to warm hearts, we were able to conclude all processes well."

Jerry.K battled glioblastoma, a malignant brain tumor, for two years starting in 2024. He passed away on the 27th of last month. He was 42 years old.

In 2024, he said, "I suddenly received a diagnosis of a brain tumor, had surgery, and am recovering," and "I still don't understand what all this is, but I hope to improve even very gradually."

His wife said, "I want to keep this space to preserve memories with the people who spent time with Jerry," and concluded, "I would appreciate it if you continue to remember Jerry unchanged in the future."

Jerry.K debuted in 2001 as a rap duo 'Loquence' with rapper Make Cents. He was an original member of hip-hop crew Soul Company. He wrote songs criticizing social issues and for the underprivileged.
