[Dispatch=Reporter Tae-Yoon Chung] Jung Chang-gyu, the husband of the late Kim Su-mi and father-in-law of actress Seo Hyo-rim, passed away on the afternoon of the 4th at 1:11 p.m. He was 80 years old.

It has been 1 year and 7 months since he said goodbye to his wife Kim Su-mi in October 2024. He was hospitalized the previous day (3rd) while battling complications from diabetes, but ultimately could not recover.

The couple married in 1974 and had one son and one daughter. Their son Jung Myung-ho, CEO of Morning Glory Media, married actress Seo Hyo-rim in 2019.

Seo Hyo-rim had previously worked with Kim Su-mi as a mother-daughter pair on MBC-TV's "Man Who Lays the Table" (2017), a connection that later became a real family bond.

The funeral parlor has been set up at Hanyang University Hospital Funeral Home, Room 9. The funeral procession is at 9:40 a.m. The burial site is Suwon Yeonhwa Cemetery.
