[Dispatch=Lee Myeong-joo] ENA's Monday-Tuesday drama 'Scarecrow' is setting its own viewership record each episode.
'Scarecrow' (written by Lee Ji-hyun, directed by Park Jun-woo) episode 6 aired on the 5th. According to Nielsen Korea, the viewership rate for that day reached 7.4% on a national average.
This marks the drama's highest viewership to date. 'Scarecrow' started with 2.9% viewership on the 20th of last month. It surpassed 5% in three episodes and has maintained an upward trend each week.
The drama also took first place across all channels in the same time slot based on nationwide households. Viewership among the channel's target demographic of ages 20-49 also surged to a per-minute high of 3.0%.
In episode 6, Kang Tae-joo (played by Park Hae-soo) falls into confusion due to Lee Ki-beom (played by Song Geon-hee) and Lee Ki-hwan (played by Jung Moon-sung), brothers who are suspects in a serial murder case.
However, there was a twist. Lee Ki-beom had made a false confession under confinement, assault, and coercion. It was also revealed that prosecutor Cha Si-young (played by Lee Hee-joon) had instructed everything.
Meanwhile, Seo Ji-won (played by Kwak Sun-young) met Park Ae-sook (played by Hwang Eun-hu), a surviving victim. The fact that her handbag had been stored at Kang Sung-mun-go raised questions.
Indeed, a matchbox with the name 'Pig Tea Room' was found inside the handbag. After Seo Ji-won met with tea room employees and made inquiries, she came across the name Lim Seok-man.
A new suspect had emerged. What was thought to be merely a witness raised tension as a distinctive gait and a workplace filled with scrap metal and equipment were spotted.
Meanwhile, 'Scarecrow' tells the story of a detective investigating a murder case who unexpectedly cooperates with someone he despises. It airs every Monday and Tuesday at 10 p.m.
