[Dispatch=Reporter Jeong Tae-yun] Actor Park Bo-gum has transformed into a Goguryeo warrior.
The production team of director Kim Han-min's new film 'Sword: The Blade of Godumakhan' released a global teaser image on the 7th. The film began production last March and is currently underway with a target release date next year.
'Sword: The Blade of Godumakhan' is a blockbuster action historical film. Set shortly after the fall of Goguryeo, it depicts the story of a man who loses his memory and becomes a slave, then enters a legendary sword tournament.
The released image captures the face of Chilseong (played by Park Bo-gum), a character who loses his past memories and becomes enslaved after the fall of Goguryeo, only to participate in a sword tournament where the fates of 16 northern tribes hang in the balance.
Chilseong stands at a moment of awakening, leaving behind his past days of merely enduring for survival and realizing and discovering who he truly is. The phrase "REBIRTH OF THE WOLF" hints at the grand survival saga that will unfold in the film.
Under director Kim Han-min's direction, Park Bo-gum has completely transformed. With long hair, a beard, and an intense gaze, he conveys the rough life of Chilseong.
'Sword: The Blade of Godumakhan' adds cinematic imagination against the backdrop of Yodong Fortress in the old Goguryeo lands, set in 668, shortly after the fall of Goguryeo. The film plans to depict on a grand scale the process by which a legendary northern sword is reborn as a symbol of new hope.
Director Kim Han-min has returned from 'Arrow' to 'Sword' action. Along with this, he has completed a global cast led by Park Bo-gum, including Joo Won, Jung Jae-young, Lee Sun-bin, and Tran Than. The film plans to meet audiences not only in Korea but around the world, including Japan and Vietnam.
