[Dispatch=Reporter Kim Ji-ho] Younghoon, Lee Ru-da, and Kim Dong-jun of THE BOYZ have come together for a time-slip romance. Through 'Kitz's premium series 'Love WiFi-Goong,' the production is expected to awaken viewers' romantic sensibilities.
'Love WiFi-Goong' is a romance drama between a webtoon artist and a court lady. It tells the story of a modern-day writer and a court lady living in the past communicating across time and space through a mysterious inlaid chest of drawers. It is based on the webtoon of the same name by writers Jo-ah and Gin-yoo, which was serialized in 2023.
'Love WiFi-Goong' was planned simultaneously as a film, short-form drama, and mid-form drama version. The distinctive approach of servicing identical content in various formats draws attention. The plan is to provide all formats consumers desire.
Younghoon takes on the role of 'Taepung,' a webtoon artist whose livelihood has become uncertain. One day, 'Taepung' becomes connected to 'Sohyang,' a court lady from the past, through an inlaid chest of drawers left behind by his mother.
He decides to become her love coach for material for his next work. However, as they converse, he realizes his own feelings are changing.
Lee Ru-da transforms into Sohyang, a concubine of lowborn status. Sohyang is a character whose goal is to win the king's heart and become a royal concubine. She is dedicated to maintaining her appearance and studying love every day.
Kim Dong-jun takes on the role of 'Lee Hwi,' a cold-hearted king, forming a love triangle. Lee Hwi is a figure who became king at a young age. Exhausted by power struggles, he has closed his heart. However, he gradually softens to the active and witty Sohyang.
Kitz is a production company that continuously presents high-quality works starring K-pop artists in leading roles. In the first half of this year, it presented 'Wound Up' starring NCT's Jeno and Jaemin.
'Very Very's Kang Min-starring 'Jump Boy LIVE,' 'Fifty Fifty's 'After School Exorcism Club,' and 'CRAVITY's Hyeongjun-starring 'Kill the Romeo' opened with a diverse lineup.
Meanwhile, 'Love WiFi-Goong' has completed all filming and is in post-production.
