[Dispatch=Lee Myung-joo] It has been revealed that Hoshi of SEVENTEEN made a donation while serving in the military.
The Chungnam Love of Humanity Community Chest said on the 8th to Dispatch, "Hoshi donated 10 million won to the 'Serving the Nation, Comrades' Love Fund.'"
The 'Serving the Nation, Comrades' Love Fund' is a fund established to assist military service members. It provides economic support to fellow soldiers and their families who have suffered unexpected accidents.
Hoshi generously donated 10 million won to the fund last month. The donation was made under his real name, Kwon Soon-young, and it is understood that Love of Humanity was late in becoming aware of it.
He practiced sharing multiple times before his military service as well. In particular, he has donated to local communities on a family basis. He and his parents were listed in the 'Honor Society.'
The 'Honor Society' is a gathering of social leaders that launched in December 2007. Membership is granted to those who donate or pledge 100 million won or more to Love of Humanity.
Hoshi became an Honor member in 2021. His father, Kwon Hyuk-du, joined as a member in 2024. His mother, Park Mi-young, also became eligible for membership last year.
Meanwhile, Hoshi is serving in the Army Military Band Honor Guard Battalion Taekwondo Demonstration Team. His discharge is scheduled for March 15, 2027.
