WOOZ apologizes for recruiting 'unpaid' staff... "I apologize for not being careful enough"

[Dispatch=Reporter Lee Myeong-ju] Singer Woo-z's agency has apologized over the controversy surrounding unpaid staff recruitment for overseas concerts.

EDAM Entertainment said to Dispatch on the 8th, "We confirmed the facts with the local concert organizer regarding (unpaid employment of concert staff)."

It was confirmed that concert support staff were hired without pay. "We are sorry for the part where we did not sufficiently review the relevant content in advance," the agency stated.

The agency said, "Regarding insufficient aspects in the local concert operations, we will coordinate with the concert organizer to ensure necessary measures are taken."

It added, "We will strengthen communication with the local side to ensure the overall concert operation process proceeds smoothly going forward. We will examine it carefully and meticulously."

This controversy was sparked by a post on a German job recruitment website. It was a job posting recruiting staff for Woo-z's world tour "Archive 1" Frankfurt concert.

The hiring conditions were demanding from the start. The posting sought those proficient in three languages—Korean, German, and English—and preferred those with K-pop concert experience, while also requiring knowledge related to lighting and sound.

However, there was no promise of payment for labor. The posting indicated "unpaid" conditions through the term "volunteer." Instead, it said concert viewing benefits would be provided.

Meanwhile, Woo-z is conducting a world tour "Archive 1." The artist will continue concerts in Berlin on the 7th of next month and Frankfurt on the 12th.
