'Hope', premiered at Cannes Film Festival...Na Hong-jin, Hwang Jung-min, Cho in-sung attended

[Dispatch=Reporter Lee Myung-joo] The film 'Hope' (directed by Na Hong-jin) will have its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival.

The distributor announced on the 8th that "'Hope' will be screened through the world premiere of the 79th Cannes International Film Festival at the Lumière Theatre in Cannes, France on the 18th (Korean time)."

Director Na Hong-jin will attend a red carpet event with actors Hwang Jeong-min, Jo In-sung, Jongho Yeon, Michael Fassbender, and Alicia Vikander, ahead of the screening that day.

The team will also meet with press from around the world. The 'Hope' team will hold an official photocall and press conference the following day, the 19th. They will share various stories about the film.

'Hope' is a story about the head of an outpost at Hopogang Port in the demilitarized zone who hears from local young people that a tiger has appeared and faces an unbelievable reality.

It is the first Korean film invited to the competition section of the Cannes Film Festival in about four years. It competes for the Palme d'Or alongside Japan's Hirokazu Koreeda and Iran's Asghar Farhadi.

Meanwhile, 'Hope' is scheduled for domestic release this summer.
