[Dispatch=Reporter Kim Ji-ho] Dino of SEVENTEEN is making his official debut as his sub-character Picheorin.
Picheorin will release his first mini album 'Gilboard' (吉BOARD) on August 3rd. The album title is a reinterpretation of the 1990s street culture 'gilboard.' It combines the Chinese character for auspicious 'gil' (吉) and the English word 'board' (board/stage).
The ambition is to turn the streets into a stage and bring joy to the nation. The title contains the wish that everyone's lives will be auspicious.
Picheorin is a character set as the representative leading the major music agency 'BOMG' and a warm-hearted and spirited producer. After first appearing in a SEVENTEEN fan meeting VCR in 2021, he has consistently been loved by fans.
Through his first mini album, Picheorin samples people's stories with endearing meddling. He is set to emerge as a 'producer on the street' who remixes these into music.
Hybe Labels' YouTube channel announced the album at 8 a.m., teasing its well-made B-movie sensibility. It summoned multiple Picheorin characters who existed in different eras through a morning educational program format. Each Picheorin introduced the path of joy they had walked.
'Prehistoric Picheorin' is a figure who discovered joy before language. He revived dying embers with an exciting beat. 'Joy-era Picheorin' developed the sound of a spear striking the ground into festive music.
'2126 Picheorin' achieved harmony through joy. While engaged in a duel with a rival from an alien planet, he discovered a new rhythm. '2026 Picheorin' decorated the highlight.
When he arrived at the broadcasting station, lightning suddenly struck. The other Picheorin characters disappeared. While everyone was taken aback, only '2026 Picheorin' remained composed. He shot his signature loving gaze toward the camera.
Some of the audio could also be heard. A smooth and refined saxophone sound was added over a heavy beat. Despite the short length containing only a portion of the track, it had strong addictiveness.
