NMIXX released their mini 5th album "Heavy Serenade" on major music streaming platforms on the 11th at 6 p.m. Ahead of their comeback, the group introduced the new album through a question-and-answer session.

The new album contains a total of 6 tracks, led by the title track "Heavy Serenade," including "Crescendo" with Lily participating in the lyrics, "I-D-Jeolbit," "Different Girl" with BAE credited in the songwriting, "Superior," and "Loud," a solo composition by Lily.

BAE stated, "Since this is an album expressing love, we included songs where you can feel many emotions," and added, "The members and many people helped us greatly. I'm happy to have been able to participate in the album."

This is their comeback after 7 months. Kyujin emphasized, "We received such overwhelming love with our first full-length album that I was excited throughout the preparation for this comeback. We worked really hard to show you a more grown version of ourselves."

Even the title speaks for NMIXX itself. The title track conveys deep love with confidence. Lily introduced it, saying, "We expressed the process of love through the tracklist. In particular, the title track compares love that is heavy to the point of weightiness to a serenade."

"Usually 'heavy' can be thought of as a negative emotion, but we wanted to express that the heavier the love, the more important and uncontrollable it becomes. When I first heard the title track, I felt like the development unfolded like flowers blooming in the song." (Lily)

Singer-songwriter Han Roro wrote the lyrics. The members added depth to the lyrics with lyrical vocals. Haewon shared, "We usually liked Han Roro's works, so we were really happy to hear the news that he would participate in our song."

Sullyoon explained, "I was surprised when I first received the lyrics because they were so beautiful. The lyrics in the pre-chorus of verses 1 and 2 stood out to me."

This time, they present mix pop that precisely blends electronic music elements such as trap, acid, and drum and bass with pop. This reinforces the team's musical identity and showcases a broader musical spectrum.

BAE revealed, "It's a song where you can feel many different seasons. It feels like a cool summer at times, and like a warm winter at other times," adding, "This song feels like it captures the emotional weight that NMIXX can feel right now."

This is the first album the group is presenting since achieving record-breaking results with their first full-length album "Blue Valentine." The members participated throughout the album, expressing more directly the emotions NMIXX is feeling now.

Sullyoon stated, "We prepared songs with various feels this time. While it's a new feeling, we worked to ensure you can listen and feel without it being awkward. I think our songs are more and more addictive the more you listen to them, and I believe many of our songs truly shine when you experience them live on stage."

Recently, NMIXX took the stage at major South American music festivals including the São Paulo Carnival in Brazil and the Viña del Mar Festival in Chile, drawing attention with solid live performances.

Kyujin recalled, "Both stages felt like dreams. Especially at the Viña del Mar Festival, we performed around 2 to 3 a.m., and seeing so many audience members chanting our name and waiting until late gave me a great thrill."

"Receiving that energy, I wasn't tired at all while handling a setlist of over 15 songs, and instead felt energized. Through the experience of becoming one through music despite language differences, our performance seemed to become even bolder." (Kyujin)

NMIXX will kick off their Asia tour next month. Lily pledged, "One of the things I most wanted to do since debut was a world tour. I'm so happy we can make this dream come true. We will create an exciting and regret-free concert at the upcoming Asia tour as well."

Finally, they also shared their goals for this comeback. Kyujin hoped, "I want to prove that NMIXX's growth has no limits. I also really want to give the fans the gifts of music show wins and chart number ones."
