[Dispatch=Lee Myung-joo Reporter] CORTIS proved explosive growth. With their new album, they ranked 2nd in first-week K-pop album sales this year.
CORTIS released their second mini album "GREENGREEN" on the 4th. According to Hanteochart, the album sold 2.31 million copies in its first week of release.
This marks the 2nd highest first-week sales for K-pop albums released this year. First place was BTS's fifth studio album "ARIRANG" with 4.17 million copies.
They also achieved their own best record. CORTIS's debut album "Color Outside the Lines," released last year, sold 436,367 copies during the same period.
"GREENGREEN" went straight to million-seller status on its release day. It sold approximately 1.2 million copies in just one day. By the fourth day of the album's release, it entered the double million-seller ranks.
The title track is "REDRED." It set consecutive new records on Spotify. It became the first 5th generation K-pop boy group to chart on "Daily Top Songs Global."
"REDRED" maintained its position on this chart for 18 days. In the latest count (as of the 9th), it remained at 93rd place. It also charted on "Weekly Top Songs Global" for two consecutive weeks.
Spotify's monthly listener count also surged more than 40% in one month. As of the 10th, it exceeded 10.32 million listeners. They entered the top 5 K-pop boy groups.
Meanwhile, CORTIS will release the music video for the B-side track "ACAI" on Hive Labels' YouTube channel on the 11th.
