Even in its brief duration, the signature tension of director Na Hong-jin's work is felt. This is about the film 'Hope' (director Na Hong-jin).

The teaser video for 'Hope' was posted on the Cannes Film Festival website on the 10th (Korea time). This is the first time it has been released in video format rather than still cuts.

The video is approximately 1 minute and 30 seconds long. It begins with a scene of Beom-seok (played by Hwang Jung-min), the head of the Hopogang branch office, and village youth Seong-gi (played by Cho Jin-sung) getting out of a car.

The two men focused on 'that'—found dead in the middle of the road. Based on the story, the identity of 'that' is presumed to be a tiger, but only its form was visible.

A scene also appeared showing Beom-seok taking a confrontational stance with another village youth over a rifle. He told the youths, "Come to the office later. Bring this rifle."

The original score that plays at the end of the video heightens the atmosphere of fear. American composer Michael Abels is responsible for the overall music in 'Hope'.

'Hope' is a story that begins when the head of the Hopogang branch office hears from neighborhood youths that a tiger has appeared, and then faces an unbelievable reality.

It has been invited to the Feature Film Competition section of the 79th Cannes Film Festival. For a Korean film, it is challenging for the highest honor, the Palme d'Or, for the first time in approximately 4 years. It will have its premiere on the 18th.

Director Na Hong-jin, as well as Hwang Jung-min, Cho Jin-sung, Jongho Yeon, Michael Fassbender, and Alicia Vikander will attend. They will also walk the red carpet together.

Meanwhile, 'Hope' is scheduled for domestic release this summer.
