[Dispatch=Reporter Jeong Tae-yun] Actress Shin Ye-eun has transformed into a bold and warm-hearted nurse.
ENA's new Monday-Tuesday drama 'Doctor Someboy' (script by Kim Jisoo, directed by Lee Myung-woo) unveiled Shin Ye-eun's first still cut on the 12th. Shin Ye-eun foreshadowed diverse activities ranging from lovely energy to hidden secrets.
'Doctor Someboy' is a medical human romance. It depicts the story of public health doctor Do Ji-ui (played by Lee Jae-wook) who arrives on the infamous remote island "Pyeondongdo" that everyone avoids, and secret-filled nurse Yuk Ha-ri (played by Shin Ye-eun).
It is based on the webtoon 'Hodl Doctor' (by author Kim Tae-poong), which is currently being serialized with popularity on Kakao Page. Director Lee Myung-woo of 'The Boyz' Days' and 'Hot-Blooded Priest' takes charge of directing. He will showcase his distinctive rhythmic directing style and sense of humor.
Lee Jae-wook and Shin Ye-eun complete the 'island man and island woman' who meet on a remote island. The still unveiled that day captures Shin Ye-eun's sunny smile. She revealed her true nurse side by staying attentively and kindly by patients' sides.
Yuk Ha-ri is a warm-hearted 'busybody' who cannot pass by people in need. Her bold nature, holding a liquor bottle from daytime while watching someone, was also quite unusual. A somewhat different atmosphere was also captured.
She wore a serious expression filled with concern. Yuk Ha-ri's unknown secret—having abruptly quit a university hospital and returned to her hometown—sparked further curiosity.
Shin Ye-eun said, "The subject of public health doctor was special. Also, all the people of Pyeondongdo village were charming and multi-dimensional," and added, "The episodes that contain laughter created by these people and the process of healing one another seemed like they would resonate with many viewers."
Regarding the character, she said, "It's a person who is loving to the degree of appearing to have wide meddling, while being soft yet strong," and "I wanted to mix what I have with Ha-ri's charm well to make her a character loved by viewers."
She continued, "Ha-ri is a character who must show various emotions in brief moments or display large emotional changes. I concentrated on expressing various emotions harmoniously and not missing Ha-ri's emotional line."
She also made efforts to express professional competence in the nursing profession. She added, "I sought consultation and asked questions, and by watching related videos and real experiences, I tried to get closer to the nursing profession."
Meanwhile, 'Doctor Someboy' will have its first broadcast on ENA at 10 p.m. on the 1st of next month. It can also be viewed on KT Genie TV and Disney+.
