[Dispatch=Reporter Lee Myeong-ju] Actor Park Jihoon captivated viewers with his comedic acting.
Park Jihoon is currently appearing in the Tving series "Becoming a Legend Cook" (screenplay by Choi Yong, directed by Jo Nam-hyung), which first aired on the 11th. He took on the role of Kang Sung-jae, who becomes a legendary cook.
He displayed charms that contrasted with his previous film "A Man Living with the King." He set aside his sorrowful gaze and transformed into a naive recruit. He brought entertainment through various crises and overcoming them.
Thanks to his passionate performance, interest in the program is growing. "Becoming a Legend Cook" recorded first place in Tving's paid subscription contribution overall ranking on the 11th and 12th of its broadcast.
Viewership is also on an upward trend. According to Nielsen Korea, the tvN broadcast achieved 5.8% viewership (national average) for episode 1 and 6.2% for episode 2. This marks more than a threefold increase compared to "Yumi's Cells" viewership.
In the latest episode, another crisis came to Kang Sung-jae (played by Park Jihoon). Due to the whims of Company Commander Hwang Seok-ho (played by Lee Sang-i), whose personal welfare is important, a brake was put on his cook's military service.
Hwang Seok-ho proposed a different position to Kang Sung-jae that day. Since he is someone who values smooth military service above all else, he found Kang Sung-jae, who is unpredictable, burdensome.
However, Kang Sung-jae recalled his father, who ran a restaurant, and reconsidered his work as a cook. He decided to persuade Hwang Seok-ho with food together with Sergeant Yun Dong-hyun (played by Lee Hong-nae).
Thus, they completed a pork cutlet. It passed the initial test with appetizing visuals. However, it was revealed that it was a menu Hwang Seok-ho did not like, and they had to turn away with dampened spirits.
Meanwhile, "Becoming a Legend Cook" airs on Tving and tvN every Monday and Tuesday at 8:50 p.m.
