[Dispatch=Reporter Lee A-jin] "I want to become a group like a vitamin vending machine!" (Chuei Li Yu)
Chuei Li Yu and Kang Woo-jin, who debuted on Mnet's 'Boys Planet,' made a bold entrance into the music industry. The team name is 'Flare U'. It carries the aspiration that two sparkles will meet and shine even more brightly.
The 'U' that makes them shine is the fans. With that, they filled their debut album with elements that will appeal to fans' tastes. They presented a fresh concept, added cute choreography and a fan song.
They also wove sincere narrative into their music. It is a story unique to the two of them, who have been running tirelessly since the audition program. It is their determination to present music that may not be perfect, but is authentic.
Flare U held their first mini-album 'YOUTH ERROR' release commemoration media showcase on the 13th at Blue Square SOL Travel Hall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.

Among multi-member boy groups, they chose 'duo' as their point of differentiation. The two agreed, "Rather, we think we can show our strengths more distinctly."
Kang Woo-jin pointed out, "From the audition onwards, we've been through thick and thin together, so we think we can express our narrative more delicately." Chuei Li Yu added, "Since each of us has many parts, we can show more charm."
Being 'together' gives them more reassurance. Chuei Li Yu met the public first with his solo first album 'Sweet Dream' last December. "I was happy that the response to my solo activity was good, but on the other hand, it was lonely. Now that I have a friend to be with, it's less difficult," he laughed.
Their debut album 'YOUTH ERROR' is an album that contains the narrative of those who came to look at the same place after trial and error. It depicts the process of two youths with different errors complementing each other and shining.
It contains a total of 6 songs. Including the title track 'Way 2 U,' there are 'Hyper,' 'Uni-kka,' 'Miracle,' 'Woo-hoo,' and 'Playground.' The genres and atmospheres are diverse.

'Way 2 U' is a hybrid pop genre. Glitchy sound and rhythmic groove come together over an upbeat rhythm.
The lyrics contain feelings of love that began suddenly. Chuei Li Yu explained, "We expressed the moment of realizing affection between friends and running towards the other person."
Chuei Li Yu hinted, "In particular, fans will probably like the choreography of 'Way 2 U.' There are a lot of cute movements in it. You can look forward to it."
Organic storytelling is also embedded in the performance. The choreography of the title track connects in story to the choreography of the b-side 'Hyper.' Each shows the process of confession and the appearance after becoming lovers.
'Hyper' is a drum and bass genre. Kang Woo-jin said, "It's much more energetic than the title track," and expressed confidence that it's "a song that can show another side of Flare U."

They premiered the stages for 'Way 2 U' and 'Hyper' on this day. The two members took the stage wearing school uniforms in navy tones. First, in 'Way 2 U,' they unfolded a stage like a coming-of-age drama.
Cute heart dances and varied facial expressions captured attention. Chuei Li Yu's clear vocals and Kang Woo-jin's soft tone achieved perfect harmony.
In 'Hyper,' they brought out more mature charm. They completely shed the image of innocent boys winking. They sang love that was both intense and poignant.
They used red strings as props in the opening. A visual embodiment of the connection of love. Kang Woo-jin broke through the wall made by dancers and ran to embrace Chuei Li Yu, leaving an aftertaste in the ending.

What is the goal of these two, who sing such diverse emotions? Kang Woo-jin said, "I want to become a group that expresses our own story through music."
They are already working on original compositions. Kang Woo-jin revealed, "In the dorm, we talk a lot saying, 'How about writing and releasing songs like this?'"
The two named Akdong Musician as their role model. Kang Woo-jin said, "Like our senior, we want to make the stage enjoyable."
Chuei Li Yu hoped, "Most of all, I want to grow into an artist who can make music like Akdong Musician that offers comfort."
Flare U's coming-of-age narrative is just beginning. Finally, Chuei Li Yu said, "During 'Boys Planet,' I greeted people as 'a boy finding light every day.' Like proving that narrative, we will become a team that renews its charm every day."
