[Dispatch=Lee Myung-ju Reporter] 'Scarecrow' surpassed its own highest viewership rating once again.
ENA aired the 10th episode of 'Scarecrow' (screenplay by Lee Ji-hyun, directed by Park Jun-woo) on the 19th. According to Nielsen Korea, the viewership rating for that day recorded 7.9% on a national average.
This is a 0.7 percentage point increase compared to the previous episode (7.2%). Compared to the 'Scarecrow' series premiere rating (2.9%), the viewership nearly tripled within 10 episodes.
The episode was filled with successive plot twists. Kang Tae-joo (played by Park Hae-soo) embarked on a search for the body of victim Yoon Hye-jin (played by Arin), leading to a truth game unfolding with Cha Si-young (played by Lee Hee-joon).
The inescapable karma between the two was also revealed. Kang Soon-young (played by Seo Ji-hye), who grew up as Tae-joo's younger sibling, was an illegitimate child of Si-young's father Cha Mu-jin (played by Yoo Seung-mok).
Mu-jin, threatened by blackmail from his son's fiancée Kim Hee-jin (played by Hong Bi-ra), went to find Soon-young. He proposed to the pregnant Soon-young, "I will protect you and my child," and she ultimately accepted.
A brush with death also came to Tae-joo. He was deceived by Park Sang-beom (played by Kil Eun-sung) and headed to the hills. Si-young's indifference, attempting to bury the truth, heightened the tension.
Meanwhile, 'Scarecrow' tells the story of a detective investigating a murder case forming an unexpected collaboration with someone he despised. It airs every Monday and Tuesday at 10 p.m.
