[Dispatch=Koo Min-ji] Stray Kids member Seungmin will not participate in an upcoming U.S. festival performance due to an ankle injury.
On May 21, JYP Entertainment announced through its official SNS channels, “Seungmin will not participate in The Governors Ball Music Festival in New York, U.S., scheduled for June 7. The performance will proceed with seven members.”
The agency explained, “Seungmin visited the hospital in March after experiencing pain in his left ankle. Following medical evaluation, he received an initial opinion suggesting a possible stress fracture and has continued receiving treatment.”
During additional examinations, Seungmin was diagnosed with a stress fracture in his left ankle.
The agency added, “He is currently undergoing detailed examinations to monitor symptoms and rule out related conditions while focusing on treatment and recovery.”
They continued, “Even in daily life, he is avoiding strenuous physical activity. Long-distance flights and travel will be minimized, and he plans to rest while monitoring treatment progress and recovery.”
JYP also asked for fans’ understanding.
“We sincerely apologize to those who were looking forward to the performance. We will do our utmost to prioritize the artist’s health and support his treatment and recovery,” the agency stated.
The Governors Ball Music Festival is a large-scale outdoor music festival held annually in New York during the summer. Stray Kids is scheduled to appear as a headliner on June 7.
