[Dispatch=Reporter Jeong Tae-yun] Actor Ryu Seung-beom's agency has apologized over controversy regarding illegal driving in a bus-only lane.
Y1 Entertainment said on the 23rd, "We sincerely apologize for causing concern to many people due to reports related to our affiliated actor," and "As a result of our investigation, we confirmed that a fine was imposed for a violation of the bus-only lane while operating a company vehicle during a schedule."
The agency continued, "The fine in question was paid immediately upon confirmation of the notice," and "Regardless of the circumstances, we apologize for failing to thoroughly comply with traffic laws. Going forward, we will strengthen internal on-site management to ensure strict compliance with relevant regulations when operating vehicles."
Previously, it was revealed that Ryu Seung-beom personally drove a company vehicle while filming the Netflix film "Good News" (directed by Byun Sung-hyun), and was caught violating the bus-only lane multiple times during this process.
The vehicle in question is a 7-seater Carnival, a vehicle type not included in the eligible vehicles for bus-only lane use under current road traffic laws. It is reported that Ryu Seung-beom drove the company vehicle because he does not have a personal vehicle.
Ryu Seung-beom married a painter from Slovakia in 2020. He is active moving between Korea and overseas. Recently, he is in the final stages of filming the Netflix series "Dealer" (directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk). On the 22nd, he also announced the expiration of his exclusive contract with Y1 Entertainment.
