[Dispatch=Reporter Kim Ji-ho] Actor Koo Kyowan wrapped up the JTBC weekend drama "Everyone is Fighting Their Own Worthlessness" (hereafter "Everyone is Fighting") and shared his closing remarks.
On the 25th, Koo Kyowan released a statement through his agency Namu Actors, saying, "Reading reviews from viewers I've never met face-to-face, I suddenly feel, 'I am there too.' All for One, One for All."
He quoted a line from the work and expressed his gratitude to viewers with wit. He added, "I hope this was a work that allowed those fighting fiercely with their own worthlessness somewhere to feel some comfort, even for a moment."
In "Everyone is Fighting," Koo Kyowan played Hwang Dong-man, a man who has been dreaming of his feature film directorial debut for 20 years. A character who wanders through anxiety and lack, openly expressing raw jealousy. Even as he is mocked as a "living corpse," he does not abandon his dream.
The ending of "Everyone is Fighting" was a happy ending. Dong-man ultimately succeeds in putting his own film out into the world. He achieves the brilliant result of winning a newcomer director award, something he had imagined countless times. His sincere acceptance remarks left a deep aftertaste.
Koo Kyowan received praise as being Hwang Dong-man himself. He demonstrated his characteristic rhythmic delivery, delicate emotional expression, and flexible facial acting. He also perfectly captured Park Hae-young's signature long and literary dialogue.
Meanwhile, Koo Kyowan transformed his face with the film "Swarm" (directed by Yeon Sang-ho), which opened on the 21st. Playing the charming villain Seo Young-chul, he is radiating an overwhelming presence.
