"ARMY! We did it again"… BTS wins grand prize at AMA

[Dispatch=Lee Myung-ju Reporter] BTS dominated the American Music Awards (AMA). The group took home three awards, including the top prize of Artist of the Year.

BTS was called as the winner of Artist of the Year at the American Music Awards held on the 26th (Korean time) at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, USA.

BTS beat out pop stars including Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, and Taylor Swift to claim the Artist of the Year trophy. It is the second time the group has won the award since 2021.

RM said, "ARMY, we did it again," and added, "Thank you. It is truly an honor to receive this precious award again after completing military service."

He continued, "This is an award decided by fan voting, so I am truly grateful to ARMY around the world. I also want to thank those who have been by our side for the past 13 years."

J-hope also gave thanks in English. "To be honest, I was completely overwhelmed by the response to this album. Thank you for loving 'Arirang,'" he said, drawing a heart.

Jimin also shared his thoughts in English. "Thank you for passionately supporting us throughout the tour," he said. In Korean, he smiled and said, "ARMY, thank you so much and I love you."

The group also took home the Song of the Summer award and Best Male K-pop Artist trophy with "Swim" (SWIM), the title track from their fifth regular album "Arirang" (ARIRANG).

V said, "I am grateful to the album production team," and laughed, "I will support all those who do not give up and continue to move forward no matter the situation. Please keep swimming."

"Arirang" is BTS's complete album some 3 years and 9 months after "Proof." The album captures the team's identity and universal emotions encountered in life.

It swept global charts. The album made K-pop history as the first album to top the US Billboard main album chart "Billboard 200" for three consecutive weeks. It also maintained a top 5 position for five weeks.

BTS painted the world with their color. The group is currently conducting a world tour "Arirang" at its largest scale ever across 34 cities. The group also held an urban-linked campaign called "The City."

Meanwhile, BTS will hold an additional performance at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on the 28th.
