KATSEYE wins rookie award at 'AMA'…"Most of all, thank you BTS"

[Dispatch=Lee Myung-joo Reporter] KATSEYE took home three trophies at the American Music Awards (AMA).

KATSEYE received the "Artist of the Year" award at the American Music Awards held on the 26th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

They beat out strong competitors. After being nominated alongside Alex Warren, Ella Langley, Leon Thomas, Olivia Dean, and Somber, they were chosen as the final winner.

Megan took the microphone. "Oh my god, this is crazy," she said, adding "I sincerely thank the ICON fandom."

Sophia gave a shout-out to BTS. "Especially, I'm grateful to BTS. They inspired us to express our culture to the world," she said.

Yoon Chae greeted in Korean. "Thank you for being able to share this moment with the members," and "We will continue to proudly represent our culture," she conveyed.

They also swept the "Best Music Video" and "Breakthrough Pop Artist" categories. They also took the stage as performers. They sang the new song "Pinky Up."

Meanwhile, KATSEYE will make a comeback with their third EP "WILD" on August 14.
