THE 8 X Vernon, Unit Confirmed…'V8', New Album Release in June

[Dispatch=Lee Myung-ju Reporter] THE 8 and Vernon of SEVENTEEN are launching activities as a new unit.

Pledis Entertainment announced on the 28th, "THE 8 and Vernon are forming a new unit 'V8' and will release their first album on June 29th."

'V8' is a unit name combining the '8' from THE 8 and the 'V' from Vernon. Like an eight-cylinder engine, it expresses their driving force forward.

Ahead of unit activities, they are conducting the 'V8 HUNT' challenge. Photos containing the 'V8' letters embedded throughout daily life are being shared.

They will continue with solo concerts following the new album release. They will hold concert tours in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province on July 11~12 and in Hong Kong on July 18~19.

THE 8 and Vernon have been active in various fields. THE 8 has presented numerous solo tracks including the Chinese EP 'STARDUST'.

Vernon has participated in team albums as well as work on songs by other artists including Bumkey and Drunken Tiger. He is also a full member of the Korea Music Copyright Association.

Last year, he joined the Recording Academy voting member roster. This is a position that grants voting rights in selecting winners of the American music awards ceremony 'Grammy Awards'.
