[Dispatch=Reporter Lee Myung-ju] Netflix variety show 'Yoo Jae-seok Camp' topped the charts upon its release.
'Yoo Jae-seok Camp' released episodes 1-5 on the 26th. According to Netflix, the series ranked No. 1 in the "Top 10 Series in South Korea Today" category as of the 28th.
It captivated viewers beyond South Korea. 'Yoo Jae-seok Camp' secured the No. 1 spot in a total of three countries/regions including South Korea, Hong Kong, and Singapore.
That's not all. The series ranked No. 3 in Malaysia and Taiwan, and No. 4 in the Philippines, Indonesia, and Thailand. It also entered the top 10 in eight countries/regions.
'Yoo Jae-seok Camp' is a variety show where Yoo Jae-seok becomes a camp manager and helps guests escape their daily routines. Lee Kwang-soo, Byun Woo-seok, and Ji Ye-eun joined as staff members.
The 30,000-pyeong-sized campground facilities, game formats reminiscent of variety shows from that era, and the comedic chemistry of 'Team Yoo Jae-seok' served as points of interest.
PD Lee So-min said, "With the trusted chemistry between Yoo Jae-seok and Lee Kwang-soo, combined with the charm of Byun Woo-seok and Ji Ye-eun, the show received more love than expected from the first week."
He continued, "It seems the unfiltered laughter created by guests seeking to escape their daily lives and the cast was well conveyed to viewers. We are pleased and grateful."
Meanwhile, episodes 6-10 of 'Yoo Jae-seok Camp' are scheduled to be released on the 2nd of next month.
