[Dispatch=Yuha Sky Reporter] A personal information breach has occurred at Tving, an online video service (OTT). Names, phone numbers, and emails are confirmed to have leaked.
On the 3rd, Tving posted a notice on its homepage and app titled "Personal Information Breach Announcement." It stated, "Recently, member personal information was leaked due to unauthorized external access."
The leaked personal information includes member IDs, names, dates of birth, gender, phone numbers, and emails. Social security numbers and valid payment-related information are not retained, so they are not subject to leakage.
Tving said, "Immediately upon recognizing the incident, we have strengthened security measures and are conducting continuous monitoring," and recommended that "users change passwords for Tving and other services using the same account information."
The company's policy is to minimize damage through user notification and operation of a special customer support guidance center. Damage relief procedures will be announced separately.
A Tving official said, "We sincerely apologize for causing concern to our customers," and explained, "We are carefully confirming the cause of the incident and its scope of impact. We are prioritizing customer protection measures."
They added, "We will disclose confirmed facts transparently. We will also faithfully cooperate with government and related agency investigations," and emphasized, "We will do our best to establish measures to prevent recurrence."
