It has set a record for the fastest milestone among films released this year. It crossed the 4 million mark on its 14th day of release. This is faster than 'The Man Living with the King' (surpassed on the 15th day).
'Swarm' is a zombie thriller film. It depicts a story unfolding as a mysterious mass infection outbreak occurs in a sealed building.
The film was officially invited to the Midnight Screening section of the 79th Cannes International Film Festival. Following its local screening, it received positive reviews for its unique setting of collective intelligence and evolution.
Showbox has delivered consecutive hits among films released this year. It achieved box office success with 'The Man Living with the King' and 'Salmonk'. 'Swarm' also surpassed the 3 million viewer break-even point early on.
Meanwhile, 'Swarm' ranks first with a 31.8% advance reservation rate as of 7 p.m. on the 3rd. 'Wild Things', which opened that day, followed in second place with 21.2%.
