The YouTube channel 'Channel Fifteen' under content production company 'Egg Is Coming' stated on SNS on the 3rd, "We sincerely apologize to viewers who felt inconvenience and hurt due to the Taiwan-related notation in this subtitle translation process."

The issue occurred in the video content 'Business Trip Communication Master: SEVENTEEN Team-Building Event' released on the 29th of last month, specifically in the 2nd episode 'SEVENTEEN's Tension is Making My Head Spin... The Finals of an Intense Team-Building Event.'

PD Na Young-seok said, "Did you see Mingyu on the Taiwan news?" The part where he mentioned 'Taiwan' (台灣) was marked as 'overseas' (海外) in the Chinese subtitles. Taiwan was not notated as an independent place name.

Taiwanese viewers expressed displeasure. China claims Taiwan as part of its territory. However, Taiwan operates as a separate political entity with its own independent government, military, and currency.

Some netizens pointed out, "Aren't they being mindful of China?" Additionally, they noted that the apology was posted only on Threads, not on the main channel.

The production team stated, "We corrected the subtitle immediately upon recognizing that 'Taiwan' was marked as 'overseas' in the Chinese subtitles," and "We then comprehensively checked whether there were any issues with other languages and expressions and at what point the problem occurred."

They continued, "While it was a mistake in the translation process, the responsibility for not correcting this in advance during the final review stage lies entirely with us," and "We are taking this matter seriously."

They apologized again for the delayed apology and the review error. "Despite needing to have given more careful consideration to our viewers, we sincerely apologize for the disappointment caused by insufficient review," they said.
