'She Was Beautiful,' Remake…"After China and Japan, Next is Mexico"

[Dispatch=Lee Myung-joo Reporter] The drama "She Was Beautiful" is being reborn as a Mexican version.

Mexico's "El Universal" reported on the 7th (Korea time) that "Televisa is remaking 'She Was Beautiful,' one of the Korean dramas."

"She Was Beautiful" is a romantic comedy that aired in 2015. It is a story about first love reunited after 15 years. Hwang Jung-eum and Park Seo-joon took on the lead roles.

It sparked a K-romance syndrome. It was loved for depicting inner beauty rather than outward appearance. Since its release, it has been remade in China, Vietnam, Japan, and other countries.

The Mexican version began filming last month. Actors Geraldine Galvan and Danielle Gama Moreno take on the roles played by Hwang Jung-eum and Park Seo-joon, respectively.

Meanwhile, the Mexican version of "She Was Beautiful" is scheduled to air on "Canal 5" in the third quarter of this year.
