[Dispatch=Reporter Jeong Tae-yoon] Director Yeon Sang-ho has newly created an original story based on a legendary Japanese tokusatsu film.
Netflix unveiled the main trailer and key art for the new series "Gas Human" on the 9th. "Gas Human" is a reboot of the legendary Japanese film "Gas Human No. 1" (1960) as a Japanese series.
Director Yeon Sang-ho served as overall producer and screenwriter. Director Katayama Shinzo handled directing. Through the streaming series "Hannibal," the films "Sibling on the Cliff's Edge" and "Missing," he has excellently depicted the darkness within human nature.
An unprecedented combination of Korea and Japan's finest creators has been completed. Korean production company WOW POINT partnered with Japan's Toho to plan and participate in production of the Japanese Netflix series.
The trailer begins with the mysterious entity Gas Human declaring himself the perpetrator of serial murders. He announced all subsequent targets and then disappeared without a trace. Japanese society fell into extreme fear and chaos.
The truth of the case gradually revealed itself amidst a massive conspiracy involving police, media, streamers, criminal organizations, and those in power. When everything is uncovered, a shocking reality that will shake the world is set to emerge.

Detective "Okamoto Kenji," who pursues the case, is played by Oguri Shun. Aoi Yuu plays "Kono Kyoko," a reporter chasing the truth. Takenouchi Yutaka adds striking presence as a former yakuza-turned entrepreneur.
The scale of the work is overwhelming. Filming took place at approximately 120 locations over about 8 months. Pre-production scouting is reported to have covered over 1,000 locations.
The scene where Gas Human attacks vehicles from beneath a manhole, causing cars to spin in mid-air, was completed after numerous trials and errors with reference to the action sequence from the film "The Dark Knight." That scene marked the first time in Japanese visual media history that the Tokyo area was completely controlled for filming.
"Gas Human" will be released worldwide on Netflix on the 2nd of next month.
