[Dispatch=Lee Myung-joo] TWS proved their popularity in Japan. The group received local association certification for their new album.
The Japan Record Association announced Gold Disc certified works on the 10th (May). TWS received 'Platinum' certification for their 5th mini album 'NO TRAGEDY'.
'Platinum' is one of nine certification standards set by the Japan Record Association. The cumulative shipment volume is the criterion. Albums that exceed 250,000 copies are granted 'Platinum' certification.
This is the second time TWS has achieved 'Platinum' certification. Their Japanese debut single 'はじめまして' (Nice to See You Again) was their first 'Platinum' certified album.
In addition to these two albums, the 5th mini album 'PLAY HARD', the 3rd mini album 'TRY WITH US', and the 1st single 'LAST BELL' were included on the certification list. 100,000 copies were shipped.
'NO TRAGEDY' tells the story of completing love on one's own terms rather than conforming to a predetermined fate. On its first day of release, approximately 200,000 copies were sold, reaching No. 1 on the Oricon chart.
That's not all. The album topped the Billboard Japan 'Top Album Sales' chart. It also ranked 1st and 2nd on Japan iTunes and Apple Music's K-pop 'Top Album' charts.
Meanwhile, TWS will release 'Dream With Us,' the official cheering song for South Korea's national soccer team, on the 11th. An Asian tour is also scheduled.
