Gong Hyo-jin, to be killed by her mother-in-law... 'married woman killer' to air first in July

The production team of the new MBC-TV Friday-Saturday drama "Married Woman Killer" (screenplay by Kim Eun-hee, directed by Yoon Jong-ho) revealed its casting lineup on the 10th. Gong Hyo-jin, Jung Jun-won, Lee Sang-i, and Sung Dong-il will appear.

"Married Woman Killer" is based on a webtoon of the same name. The story follows a working mom with the most brutal job in the world as she struggles to maintain "work-life balance."

Gong Hyo-jin takes on the role of Yoo Bo-na, a manager at the Sales Team 3 of Doruumi Electronics. She is a working mom in her 30s with a husband and a 4-year-old daughter. On the surface, she appears to be an ordinary married woman with nothing special.

However, her true identity is a complete reversal. She is the legendary sniper "Kingfisher." Until her parental leave, she worked as a killer eliminating vicious criminals that the law missed.

Jung Jun-won plays Bo-na's husband Kwon Tae-sung. Tae-sung is a loving husband and devoted father. At the same time, he is a newspaper reporter who fearlessly pursues injustice in the world.

He was once a reporter dedicated to covering Kingfisher. As he investigates, he gradually gets closer to the truth behind the veiled Kingfisher. He finds himself torn between his role as head of household and his duty as a journalist.

Lee Sang-i plays Lee Dong-jin, a sergeant in the Major Crimes Division of the South Police Station. His character is skeptical of vigilante justice. With the conviction to realize justice, he persistently pursues Kingfisher.

Sung Dong-il plays Kim Bong-pal, team leader of Sales Team 3 at Doruumi Electronics. With a nickname of "Bong Ho-gu," he is a naturally good person, but behind that he hides deep expertise and combat ability.

Director Yoon Jong-ho is in charge of directing. He received recognition for his sensible direction through "Sell Your Haunted House." Writer Kim Eun-hee of "Ghost Doctor" handles the screenplay, demonstrating solid writing skills.

The production team stated, "Not only Gong Hyo-jin's record-breaking acting transformation but also the distinctive character performances of Jung Jun-won, Lee Sang-i, and Sung Dong-il will deliver breathtaking immersion. We look forward to your interest and anticipation."
