[Dispatch=Reporter Jeong Tae-yoon] CORTIS proved its hot popularity not only domestically but also in Japan and the United States.
According to the Japan Record Association, CORTIS surpassed 100,000 cumulative units shipped in May with its second mini album "Green Green" on the 10th. It received a Gold Disk certification.
This is the first Gold Disk certification acquired since debuting in August of last year. CORTIS proved its local popularity before even making an official debut in Japan.
Following the release of the new album on May 4th, it achieved notable results on major Japanese charts simultaneously. "Green Green" previously ranked 1st on the Oricon "Daily Album Ranking" (as of May 7th).
It also rose to a peak of 4th on Billboard Japan's "Hot Albums" (as of May 13th). The title track "Red Red" is ranked 13th in the first half of the year on Billboard Japan's "Hits Seeker Songs" (as of May 13th).
"Green Green" contains songs that reveal a more distinct taste through members' collaborative creation. It previously entered 3rd on the US Billboard 200 chart dated May 23rd.
Subsequently, it ranked 46th on the latest chart announced on the 9th (dated June 13th), marking four consecutive weeks on the chart. It also placed 2nd on the World Albums chart and 6th on Top Album Sales.
"Red Red" also rose to 54th on Billboard Global 200 and 28th on Global (excluding the US). It proved fans' consistent love for the music.
Buoyed by this popularity, CORTIS ranked 19th on the "Artist 100" chart. It rose 8 positions compared to the previous week. It has continued four consecutive weeks on the chart following its own peak ranking of 5th as of May 23rd.
CORTIS is demonstrating a status beyond rookie through both albums and digital tracks. "Green Green" recorded initial sales of 2,313,291 units (according to Hantera Chart).
This is more than five times the previous work. It corresponds to 2nd among K-pop digital tracks released this year, following BTS's regular 5th album "ARIRANG".
It also dominated the top of major domestic charts including Melon and Bugs. It also surpassed 12.33 million monthly listeners on the global audio and music streaming platform Spotify (as of May 31st).
