[Dispatch=Reporter Lee Myeong-ju] The film 'Hope' (directed by Na Hong-jin) will be screened at premium theaters.
The distributor announced on the 10th that "'Hope' has confirmed its IMAX® release," stating that "it will deliver an overwhelming cinematic experience through high-quality screens."
Christopher Tillman, Vice President of IMAX Overseas Development and Distribution, expressed confidence that "the grand spectacle of 'Hope' perfectly suits the IMAX format."
He added, "I am very pleased to present this work, which was designed to be enjoyed with the immersive experience unique to IMAX alongside director Na Hong-jin and others."
'Hope' is director Na's new work released 10 years after 'The Wailing.' It was invited to the competition section of the 79th Cannes International Film Festival last month, where it met with critics and international audiences.
In particular, the highest level of effort was made throughout production in cinematography, art direction, music, and action. Through this, original visuals, bold mise-en-scène, and intense action were completed.
It is expected to create synergy with IMAX. An official predicted that "'Hope' will perfectly convey the vivid atmosphere and every delicate detail."
Meanwhile, 'Hope' is a work set against the backdrop of Hopohaang in the Demilitarized Zone. It depicts people facing an unbelievable reality. It opens next month on the 17th.
