[Dispatch=Lee Myung-ju] Actor Oh Jung-se is captivating home viewers with contrasting charm.
Oh Jung-se is appearing in MBC-TV's "50 Percent," which first aired on the 22nd of last month. He plays Bul-gae, a former North Korean special operative who has lost his memory.
Bul-gae is a character who experiences an unexpected accident and lives a completely different life. Gone is his threatening appearance as he now lives as the innocent Bong Je-sun.
Oh Jung-se's detailed acting shone. He portrayed the duality Je-sun possesses with realism. He moved between clumsy and charismatic sides.
In particular, in the recent broadcast, Bul-gae's instincts awakened. He witnessed his nephew Huh Nam-il (played by Kim Sung-jung), who was at an Ingang Park drug deal, and engaged in desperate combat.
He added detail to small gestures. Sensing his exceptional abilities as he stepped through action sequences, he then collapsed comically. The meticulous description brought realism.
It raises expectations for what's to come. At the end of episode 8, Je-sun learns he was a North Korean special operative and, feeling confused, gets into an accident.
His agency said, "Oh Jung-se is enhancing the appeal of the character through his control of pace, moving between comedy, drama, and action," and expressed interest.
Meanwhile, "50 Percent" is a story about three men who had some swagger finding "the truth of that day." It airs every Friday and Saturday at 9:50 p.m.
