[Dispatch=Reporter Tae Yun Jung] A new learning space has been created for children through Hoshi's donation.
The Community Chest of Korea stated on the 15th, "The construction project for a public school classroom in Zambia, which was carried out through Hoshi's donation, has been completed, providing a new learning environment for approximately 250 local children."
This project was carried out with 100 million won in donations that Hoshi delivered through the Community Chest of Korea in northern Gyeonggi last year. The school subject to the project is a public school with approximately 250 children enrolled from kindergarten through 7th grade.
Previously, there were only 2 classrooms, and multiple grades were holding classes in one space, placing the school in a poor educational environment. Through this support, 5 new classrooms and restrooms across a total of 2 buildings have been constructed.
Renovations to existing school facilities were also carried out. Due to the shortage of classrooms, multiple grades had to take classes in one space. The new classroom construction now allows students to learn in a more spacious and comfortable environment.
Additionally, detailed support for improving children's living conditions was provided, including repairs to aging facilities and electrical work at a child protection facility in Kitwe, a city in northern Zambia.
Hoshi said, "I decided to participate with the hope that children can learn and grow in a better environment. Thinking of the children who will nurture their dreams in the new classrooms brings me great joy, and I hope to continue showing interest in places where help is needed."
Since joining the Honor Society, a personal donor group of the Community Chest of Korea, in 2021, Hoshi has been consistently practicing giving. In 2024, he provided 100 million won to support the construction of a national orphanage school in Laos.
In May, he donated to the Army Sacrifice for Country Comradeship Fund. He has also been engaged in various giving activities for underprivileged neighbors at home and abroad, including donations to his alma mater and hometown juniors, book donations to the Lee Seok Young New Media Library, and briquette donations.
Meanwhile, on his birthday, Hoshi will release a new song "SNAPBACK" on major music streaming sites this afternoon at 6 p.m. The song cleverly expresses an irresistible charm. Hoshi participated in the songwriting and composition, demonstrating his musical capabilities.
