[Dispatch=Reporter Lee A-jin] Actors Choi Woo-shik and Moon Ga-young meet in a period drama romance.

The tvN new drama 'Whale Star' (screenplay by Moru and Seol-sup, directed by Heo Jin-ho and Yoo Beom-sang) unveiled its casting lineup on the 17th. Choi Woo-shik, Moon Ga-young, Han Nam-jun, Yoo Jae-myung, Kang Han-na, Kim Yeo-jin, and Gong Seung-yeon made the list.

'Whale Star' is a youth romance. It is based on a webtoon of the same name. In 1926 in Gyeongseong, the story begins when a maid from a pro-Japanese family saves an independence activist who has fallen into the sea.

Choi Woo-shik plays Kang Ui-hyeon, an independence activist. He is a character with a pro-Japanese father. While carrying out operations for national liberation, he comes to cherish a maid who saved his life.

Moon Ga-young takes on the role of Han Su-ah, a maid in a pro-Japanese family. Han Su-ah has a kind and capable nature. After meeting Kang Ui-hyeon and Song Hae-su (played by Han Nam-jun), she experiences waves of emotion.

Han Nam-jun plays Song Hae-su. He is an independence activist who lost his family in the Yeonhae-ju tragedy. He possesses strong will to sacrifice his life for the greater cause. He becomes unhappily entangled with Han Su-ah due to a certain incident.

Yoo Jae-myung plays Kang Geun-hyeong, Kang Ui-hyeon's father. He is a pro-Japanese figure who collaborates with Japan and attempts to use his son. He will betray the nation for his own ambitions, adding tension to the drama.

Kang Han-na takes on the role of Han Yeon-gyeong. Han Yeon-gyeong lost her husband and family while engaged in independence activities. However, amid loss, she does not waver in her commitment to independence and moves forward with conviction.

Kim Yeo-jin appears as Hwang Soon-im, the owner of the cafe 'Whale Star'. She is a spiritual pillar for the independence activists of Gyeongseong. She possesses both gentle leadership and charisma in guiding the members.

Gong Seung-yeon makes a special appearance as Yeo Yun-hwa, the young lady whom Han Su-ah served. She treats Han Su-ah, a maid, coldly, yet harbors special feelings for her in her heart.

'Whale Star' will air early next year.
