[Dispatch=Reporter Koo Min-ji] SEVENTEEN's new unit 'V8' (THE 8, Vernon) has completed preparations for launch.
V8 will release their mini first album 'V8' on the 29th. It is a result that concentrates the creative capabilities of THE 8 and Vernon. They participated in songwriting, composition, audio mixing, music video and visual art work.
The project underwent approximately a year and a half of preparation. An official stated, "The album reflects their unique sensibility recognized through steady songwriting, and the synergy of two people with different personalities."
The album contains a total of 8 tracks. THE 8 and Vernon created 6 tracks together. They also led solo track production individually. Collaborations with various global artists elevated the completeness further.
They extended love calls to artists leading the subculture scene, including DPR Attic, Hakaase, Number Nine, and Rob Roy, as well as MEGATONE, Kirara, Dylan Brady, and Alice Longwei Gao.
During SEVENTEEN WORLD TOUR NEW_ last year, they conducted song sessions in Los Angeles and other parts of the United States. They expanded contact points with overseas producers.
THE 8 contributed ideas to the music video for the title track 'singasong'. He also offered input on the album's visual art. Vernon participated in mixing for included tracks, coordinating the overall sound.
V8 centered on the theme of 'consumed youth.' It reflects the wandering and confusion experienced in time that has passed, and moments of recovery and growth found within it. The 8 tracks are filled with diverse genres.
They previously announced, "We did our best on the album. We broke down structures as much as we could, and gave our opinions as much as we wanted. We also structured a solo concert in a new format. We hope fans enjoy it."
Meanwhile, V8 is also preparing a special meetup. On the 28th, they will hold a new album pre-listening party at Grain House in Itaewon-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul. They plan to preview all new songs in advance.
They will also hold '2026 VERNON THE 8 V8 LIVE' on July 11-12 at Hall 1 of the first exhibition hall at KINTEX in Goyang-si, Gyeonggi Province, and on the 17th-19th at Asia World Expo Hall 10 in Hong Kong.
